PARADISE IN THE DESERT development supported

Paradise in the desert, by Ike Bertels, is supported for development by the Netherlands Film Fund.

The film will be a feature documentary about how the gazella became the symbol for harmony between black and white.

In a company town, behind a fence in a Namibian desert area, 9,000 black and white people lead a harmonious and peaceful existence. But soon, economic circumstances will change profoundly in this so-called ‘paradise’. Will peaceful coexistence be able to continue when everywhere in the world ethnic differences break communities apart?

Ike Bertels will go to Namibia upcoming months to research this company town; Oranjemund.
